Michelle Jordan is the proud owner of the MOD Shop Salon & Boutique here in downtown Southern Pines. She is an accomplished colorist, hair extension specialist, and makeup artist. As a second-generation hairstylist, her passion for the business began early in life while sweeping floors and dressing wigs in her grandmother’s salon. Since then, she has spent the last 32 years of her career training extensively in such places as London, New York, Miami, Chicago and LA.

She has studied the art of color with Paul Mitchell, Wella, Goldwell, Loreal, Redkin, Art-tech, and Aveda. She has honed her cutting skills with Vidal Sassoon, Toni & Guy, Michael Karg, Costas Mezzeralla and many more.

One of her favorite accomplishments has been becoming certified in the art of hair extensions through several companies such as: Hotheads, Hairtalk, Cinderella, Great Lengths, Donna Bella, Halo, Genesis, Hair Dreams, and Francesco Galasso. She has received makeup artist training with such greats as Scott Barns, inventor of the Jlo glow, Ashunta Sheriff, Taraji P Henson’s makeup artist, and 5-time Emmy-award-winning Eve Pearl.

Michelle feels that continuing education is not only motivating, but is a priority when striving to design a look that is unique to her clients.  Her career and credentials are the very reason as to why she is a true artist and why she is one of the area's most sought-after stylists. 

Christy Raynor manages daily operations and is in charge of recruiting and staff training. With 15 years of experience, she provides excellent customer service and ensures every customer is satisfied with their clothing items. She creates a lasting relationship with with every patron and fosters a positive environment with high standards and conditions.

Nikki received her education under Toni and Guy as well as Bumble and Bumble in Dallas, TX and has been working in the hair industry since 2001. For the last 5 years, she has utilized her talents here in downtown Southern Pines. Nikki specializes in blonde color, color correction, men's cuts, and extensions.

Julian Hagner, our newest Stylist, brings his world of premium salon experience and his well-known magnetic style to our salon. Julian has more than 13 years of European and American experience, including advanced training and certifications from Wella, Aveda, and more other high-end beauty brands. Early in his career Julian developed expertise in European styles and techniques in well-respected salons near Frankfurt, Germany. He later expanded his professional experience to the U.S., working in premium salons in Washington D.C., Charlottesville, VA, and Southern Pines.  Of all the places he’s lived, Julian has truly enjoyed making the Sandhills his home. Julian learned commitment to exceptional standards early on as a student of the Fissler Berufsschule, a well-known Cosmetology College in Germany, and as an apprentice of the respected Jung family. He later went on to manage one of the Jung family’s salons in the Rhineland-Pfalz area of Germany, just north of Ramstein Air Base. Julian is passionate about hair and high standards, and he takes pride in his holistic approach to ensuring that his clients look and feel their best.

Kylie is our resident shop assistant, working in both our salon and boutique areas. Helping with all aspects of shops customer service needs, she helps maintain our shops high standards. When it comes to styling boutique outfits and helping dress you for the right occasion Kylies expertise will deliver the perfect fit for every event and need.
